Wavescope: An Adaptive Wireless Sensor Network System for
High Data-Rate Applications
Overview
WaveScope seeks to advance the state-of-the-art in wireless sensor
networks in three related directions:
-
By developing a general-purpose information processing architecture that
combines continuous query processing
and signal processing on sensor data streams.
- By developing general-purpose in-network processing algorithms that
adapt to prevailing network conditions.
Two classes of algorithms are of special interest: probabilistic
model-based algorithms and wavelet-based signal
processing. Both classes of algorithms allow fine-grained control
over how much data is transmitted from a node.
- By developing a multi-hop wireless data delivery system that
integrates channel access and congestion control
for efficient and fair network resource allocation.
